UNITED COLOURS OF BENETTON - Turtleneck
Straight hair. Oh how nice it is, but even for us naturally-straight-haired-heads it can be a bit of a struggle to get right. If I leave my hair all straight with no volume at all (which some girls pull off absolutely beautifully!) my heart-shaped head looks giant and it's just not a good look for me. I often create a bit of movement with a hot styler, randomly twisting hair strands throughout my hair. When ghd recently contacted me to try out their V pink Jewel styler, I thought it'd be fun to put it to a test, when I was traveling over the last few weeks to Barcelona with Mango and to Copenhagen for the fashion week and it really didn't let me down!
I really need my sleep (I'm one of those…) so when I wake up 40mins before a show or event, it heats up within seconds and was very simple to use. It's slightly smaller than my usual stylers making it great for travel without compromising the result plus the styler is pink - that's about 1000+ points in my book.
FOR THE LOOK ABOVE I went all-straight but decided to go for a tucked in style with some volume creating some length play. I prepped with TONI&GUY Heat Protection Mist in dry hair and started straightening all of my hair with the ghd Jewel styler and a brush. The brush ensures that you do minimal damage to your hair and makes it look more neat, so don't leave it out for this look.
Next, I add some of TRESemmé's Oil Elixir to get the last bit of frizz. Jump in to a turtleneck, gently pull out hair to create the volume and voilà!
The styler I used is a PR sample, but for every ghd V pink Jewel styler sold, £10 goes towards breast cancer charities. The research they do are so important for us girls, so it's so lovely, that ghd over the past 10 years have raised over £ 7 million for this cause through selling pink stylers.
