THREE WAYS TO WEAR A STATEMENT SKIRT

ONE SKIRT, THREE LOOKS / McQ BY ALEXANDER MCQUEEN SKIRT

Framboise Fashion Alexander McQueen Skirt

VINTAGE SHIRT / REISS TRENCH COAT / TOPSHOP BOOTS

Chances are, if you're reading this right now, a good 75% are familiar with
this blog already, and know that I 98% of the time am pictured in trousers. From
that 98%, a good 77% of that time, I'll be wearing jeans. You can imagine how
this has left a curiosity within me how to successfully pull of a skirt, let alone
a statements skirt, let alone in end November.. Farfetch provided me
with the challenge, and all there was left for me to say was:

Challenge accepted!

BENETTON TURTLENECK / VINTAGE BLAZER / VINTAGE BOOTS

So how would one pull off a statement skirtWell, in tough situations
I'm taught to break things down. First step: wear one.. Next up, cover torso
area. Turtleneck or shirt, denim jacket or blazer, all can come to the party. This
time of year, boots are the boss of any look and there are extra points to those
that follow the hemline of the skirt. Stockings: optional, but in a few weeks, we
will not have the luxury of the choice anymore.

So, I didn't manage to avoid bringing denim into the picture,
but then again, would it really be right to deny one's sartorial guilty
pleasures? Denim sure does it for me, and may I say, offers the warmest
options of all. More trousers under skirts this season, p'lease!

Second look, a bright hued silk top, a muted trench coat and knee
highs. The idea of combining opposing colour families had me good to go,
and after all, Sesame Street-esque colours do have a magical power to
lighten the mood of darker months.

Last but not least, the Mary Quant meets Julia Roberts in My Best
Friend's Wedding. A classic slim fit turtleneck and some saturated red
boots to go with any red buses that may choose to pass.
