DIFFERENT SPIRIT

TAKE IT TO THE SEASIDE

One of the reasons I came to London, and stayed, was due to its on-going buzz that never fails to excite you when you're looking for some quirky new trend to try or wake you up at 4AM, because this city never sleeps. As much as I feed of that buzz, me and road trips are soulmates. I knew it from a very young age, every year my family would pack the car till we had tents and teacups sticking out from all sides and we'd be on any high-way that would take us out of town. It didn't matter much where we went, solely the fact that we were on our way, and that we had enough juice-boxes to keep the back seat hydrated.

Chapter two, this Easter I finally mastered something in a new and charming Parisian premium beauty, the Citroën DS 3 - something I worried I would never accomplish: taking on a road trip in England (left hand side driving!). Going against all instincts, I somehow managed after a cold-sweating 40 minutes of London city driving to become ambidextrous on wheels. Once past the immediate orientation challenge, it was an absolutely beautiful car to drive, both in the smoothness of the ride and in its style. I discovered that the DS was an abbreviation for "Different Spirit", which I loved and feel embodied my first experience on the roads away from my right-handed home.

Being in Dover was incredible to say the least, and to have city sirens replaced with the crushing of waves on the shore, was a change of setting much needed. Don't miss the experience of seeing the white cliffs of Dover, which are a spectacular sight in themselves and do check out Canterbury nearby for food and the cathedral for a lovely day out.

  10. Awesome pictures. And I wish I liked road trips but they make me sick. If I drive, it's better but I get bored easily and will fall asleep at the wheel due to being understimulated. Otherwise, I need to be in the passenger seat. In the passenger seat, I can still get car sick but even worse if I'm in the back.
