BELOW THE SURFACE
When I tell people about my background and childhood, it often comes up that I come from what I'd call a very new age family. To paint you a picture: meditation, yoga and not least daily chats about what we dreamt last night and the meaning of it was a completely normal thing at home. Whenever I'd have a dream about the ocean, my dad always pointed out, that water represented the emotions. To this day I still can't look at the sea without feeling it somehow represents what's going on inside of me. Its depth proves a value and holds a mystery of something yet unexplored or unexpressed, and a quiet moment alone by the sea always gets me into my quiet self (a rare sight for sure).
Beautiful Hvar in Croatia had so many tranquil spots where you could just get yourself lost in an uncontrolled sequence of thought. Being back in ever so active zone 1 of London since the weekend, I'm reminded how vital it is to source out those inner city sanctuaries that just allow you to let go of all the tension created by our modern, career-achieving lifestyles. Having been glued to my laptop since I arrived back, I got to Tuesday, sleep-deprived and cross-eyed from emails and admin, longing to get back to the moment when these photos were taken. I fixed the situation by going on flight mode for an hour just after lunch-time (mind you, when my inbox has the most traffic), and went to a yoga class. Small, simple thing for sure, but it got me out of my head and into a completely quiet mindset. As much as I love my ambitions, my wish to achieve and perform, it's so important that those lights aren't on all the time, and you have moments to just be you.

Love this look. So effortless and undone but elegant. I love the ocean and listening to the sound of the waves. Such a beautiful piece of Gods creation that's full of mystery. It's funny because for me it's so peaceful and calming yet at the same time I definitely have a fear and respect of it...or rather the creatures in it. ;)

I agree! Taking time to watch or swim in the ocean is so rebalancing and refreshing. It's like a wake up from the daily grind and I am always left wondering why I do not jump into the water more often!
