A TO B

TAGGING ALONG

Summertime! I have finally gotten to the place where yours truly is too cooked* to put two thoughts successfully together and thereby attentively write a blogpost. It is being written through tinted glass vision underneath a multicoloured parasol, attempting to catch a green straw that leads directly to today's blog-post-writing-fuel: a raspberry smoothie*. Blog fuel is left to my also overheating laptop which I suspect might be taking off to other destinations without me judging from the jet sound it's making.

I've always had a rather ambivalent relation with street-art. I love and will appreciate almost anything that has had thought and effort put into it, and will often be saying, that if it's good I like it.. Which is a rather vague, general and obvious statement. The less meaning it seems to have to an un-biased eye, the less I tend to like it, but the backdrop of the first photo (and a photo down when ya' scroll) is a collection of exactly that: tags. Done in a haste, more as a personal mark of presence and territory than a profound artistic statement, however I was surprised that when together as with these photos, in different colours and sizes I found myself drawn to a completely different aesthetic.

*from atmospheric temperature increases, I felt like this should be made very clear.
*finding alternatives to ice coffees, as current location doesn't have a freezer.

If you like streetart, London has absolutely remarkable streetart in the most unusual places, but the walls of East London, in particular near Brick Lane and on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, get used as giant canvasses by some amazing artists and it changes quite often. I always get impressed when I'm in Australia, where Bondi Beach in Sydney and not least Laneways in Melbourne have some of the most well executed graffiti out there.

  15. Always loved summers because we get to dress like this! Also, how I've missed seeing wall arts. In Qatar, there's so little of that and it's refreshing to see photos like this in your blog
