EXPOSURE OF JUDGEMENT

Time for a mid-week confession? Alright, team. Just about a month ago, before I went to stunning Albufeira in Portugal, I went through the tiring yet typical monologue so many of us women* go through before going away to publicly expose ourselves on a beach. The whole, abs in a week, sacrificing bread, kind of stuff. The mildly abusive nature my inner monologue was taking was taking away the focus of the wonderful fact, that I was going to spend a whole week in Portugal with close friends.

*men too?

And do you know which realisation I had, once I got to the Portuguese beach? Women (and men) are beautiful. Not just in the conventional sense that we get fed by the media, but in their own, they were actually just beautiful. I wasn't putting any judgement towards them, so what on earth was I doing to myself up until my trip? My hard efforts (okay, by hard efforts I mean no fries with the burger) that had been invested into an unnecessary vulnerability, were in vain, or at least for the wrong reasons. It took me less than a day to eat myself into a spongebob shape, and although I'll admit the realisation made me have an indulgent carb fest that surpassed my limit of well-being, I was one happy spongebob on that beach in Portugal.

I HOPE YOU KEEP INNER DESTRUCTIVE VOICES IN CHECK AND ALLOW YOURSELVES TO INDULGE WHEN LIFE OFFERS LUXURIOUS MOMENTS.
