WELCOME TO MOSCOW

#MBFWRUSSIA

Lights go out. Bass on. Steam flies through the air, creating a vertical cloud around the runway illuminating Yulia Nikolaeva's Spring / Summer '17 collection, and she alongside her Russian designer colleagues who were also showcasing their collections in the recently passed Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia cemented the fact that Moscow holds designers of high quality, cutting edge and indeed capable of making waves on the international fashion scene with a contemporary Eastern European POV.

I do love a good first - anything from redirected bus routes to eclairs (only discovered them this year, HOW did these not bring me through my teenage years!?) - and so as you can imagine, embarking on my first season in Moscow, I was pretty excited to say the least! Taking my first meet with Russian culture, food, its fashion scene, food, I only had very little to base my expectations on and let me just say it right here: Google image search does not do it justice. Dasvidanya doesn't sound right until you've heard it in Russia, and following this post which shares my highlights of the fashion week with the collections and looks that elated and excited, I will share with you some of the beautiful sights we saw in Moscow together with the usual 'I wa$ wearing di$' shazam you know. For now, buckle up and get ready for some Russian fashion when it's best.
