"Florals for spring. Groundbreaking."
This statement said by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada remains one of my favourite fashion movie quotes. Because what is it, that keeps us returning like moths to a flame every year to floral printed clothes? It just seems so obvious, yet you never see snowflake prints for winter or brown leaves for autumn.
There is something so uplifting about wearing florals for spring (or late winter, ahem), reminding us that summer is just around the corner. This year, my floral investment for spring is this Warehouse sweatshirt with a peplum skirt (the first one I own of that kind).
I just love how it's almost mono with just a hint of dusty rose and dusty mint.
So this is what went on me yesterday, the second day of London Fashion Week! It's always a lot of fun going to shows and presentations, but there's something about that atmosphere outside just before and just after. Models wearing extravagant show make-up with their laid-back off-duty style, inspiring individuals within the industry and street style photographers from all over the world. What's not to love!?
(Except for the shifty weather…)
HAVE A LOVELY DAY
